SPATIAL PLANNING STRATEGY FORTHE HUMAN SETTLEMENT ENVIRONMENT OF ANCIENT VILLAGES CONSIDERING THE COMMON CHARACTERISTICS OF AGGLOMERATION

China's Huizhou has a unique geographical en-vironment,economic development, social structure, and its own culture, which enables the region to still retain the original pattern and history, culture, and folklore information of the villages in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. In order to protect the traditional culture and improve the rationality of the human set-tlement environment of the ancient villages in Hui-zhou, China,in this paper,a spatialplanning strategy that considers the common characteristics of the hu-man settlement environment was proposed. The common characteristics of agglomeration of ancient villages in Huizhou area are combined with their nat-ural and human factors, and the constituent elements ofthe residential environment space in this area have been explored. Furthermore, the current planning status and existing problems of the human settlement environment of the ancient villages in Huizhou have been clarified. Through the adjustment of the spatial structure, the reasonable planning of the human set-tlement environment space of the ancient villages in Huizhou was realized from three aspects: architec-tural space, street space and water system space. Practical application shows that the spatial planning strategy of human settlements in this paper can ef-fectively improve the rationality of the spatial layout ofthe ancient villages in Huizhou.
