INTRODUCTIONIn conventional Water Distribution Systems (WDSs), water is taken from source, treated, transported and distributed to users. Wastewater is then collected, treated and disposed into the environment. In urban areas, the design of conventional WDSs is therefore focused on meeting the demand for water, which is typically increasing.
