A NOVEL DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF A TOOL HEAD FOR ENHANCING THE PROCESSING CAPIABILITY OF A CONVENTIONAL PLANER MACHINE TO PERFORM CURVED SHAPED JOBS

A tool head with a novel design has been developed and is engaged for enhancing the processing capability of a conventional planer machine to undertake the curved profile jobs has been disclosed here. The purpose of this invention is to design a tool head for planer machine by use of which curved and non- linear jobs can be machined on a planer machine, thus enhancing the processing capability of the machine. Apart from its conventional capabilities a planer machine with the novel attachment developed for the tool head, based on the cam & follower principle is made to get the non-linear, helical, non-elliptical, etc. shapes. Such profiled jobs are conveniently done by deploying Computerised Numerically Controlled (CNC) machines or copying attachment/machines, but by using new attachment to the tool head, disclosed here, it the jobs/shapes described above can be machined on a cost effective measure on a conventional planer machine.
