A new insertion technique of the laryngeal mask airway flexible used in patients for whom the standard method failed

The LMA flexible has been recognized as an alternative method of ventilation and airway management of oral ophthalmic and nasal surgeries for more than two decades.1 The avoidance of endotracheal intubation, smooth emergence from anesthesia with lower risk of surgical bleeding and fewer respiratory complications, and reduced patient discomfort make the use of the LMA attractive to anesthesiologists, surgeons, and patient. However, along with its advantages, there are also some drawbacks. The LMA flexible is more difficult to insert compared with the ordinary laryngeal mask because pressure cannot be directly transmitted along the soft flexometallic stem. Therefore, the insertion technique of LMA flexible is particularly important.
