摘要

Honing is a machining process that produces precise bores regarding form, geometry and surface quality. The tool is equipped with one honing and two guiding stones. The tools movement is defined by three overlaid movement components including a rotating, an oscillating stroke, and a radial feed movement of the honing stone. The feed movement is one of the fundamental factors for the final honing results. This paper describes the feed movement of the work tool based on experimental and simulation results. Furthermore, the simulation covers the movements of the honing gimbal and analyses the displacement and tipping in the system.
