Consumer water giant Culligan has identified more than 5,000 potential acquisition targets as it looks to continue the selective buy-and-build strategy which has helped it quadruple in size over the last five years. The group - which announced a new owner last month (see main story, facing page), has completed more than 90 acquisitions in Europe and North America since its last ownership change in 2017, chiefly focused on broadening its market access and its product portfolio. "This is not a roll-up strategy," asserts CEO Scott Clawson. "We're not just buying any company related to water. Everything must fit with our strategy to be the leading consumer water service company for drinking water and softening," he told GWI this month.
