摘要

Suez CEO Bertrand Camus has signalled that he will step down and not join the venture capital-backed buy-out of the company after the merger with Veolia. It is devastating news for the Suez employees who bought into his vision for the future of the company during the takeover battle, but it is also a signal of the new direction that Suez is likely to be travelling in. Camus' vision was based on developing the inter-relationship between technology, assets and service. New owners Meridiam and GIP are likely to want to use the company as a platform on which to build a portfolio of water infrastructure assets. It will probably involve shipping some infrastructure finance experts into the executive committee.
