Stroke like presentation of disseminated CNS Nocardia beijingensis infection in an immunocompetent patient: Case report and review of the literature

We describe a rare case of pulmonary and central nervous system (CNS)Nocardia beijingensisinfection in an immunocompetent patient presenting with stroke like symptoms and newly discovered pulmonary and brain mass. Initial work up suggested lung cancer with metastasis to the brain. However, further evaluation revealed disseminatedN.beijingensis. A literature review ofN.beijingensisinfections in immunocompetent host is also presented.
