Perineal laceration is the most common complication of delivery. The severity of perineal laceration depends on multiple aspects, such as individual differences of the patients, medical conditions of delivery and the professional skills of obstetric care personnel. Statistically, 53e79% of women have different degrees of laceration during vaginal delivery. 1,2 Based on the guidelines of American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), 3 obstetric laceration is divided into four degrees (Table 1). However, many young doctors and clinical medical students failed to master the degree of laceration in clinical practice, so they cannot diagnose perineal laceration accurately, and cannot choose suture methods and materials. In clinical teaching, the training on the grading of perineal laceration is more limited to pictures or models, so it is difficult for residents to apply the theoretical knowledges to clinical practice. Therefore, we considered tofind a vivid teaching method to improve the accuracy in diagnosis of perineal laceration, which is of great significance for subsequent treatments.
