Chinese expert consensus and practice guideline of totally implantable access port for digestive tract carcinomas

Totally implantable access port is a fully implantable drug delivery system that isimplanted subcutaneously and can be retained for a long time. Advantages ofports include a simple nursing process, low risk of infection and embolism, andhigh patient comfort. In order to promote the standardized application of ports inthe treatment of digestive tract tumors and reduce port-related complications, theChinese Research Hospital Association Digestive Tumor Committee, the ChineseAssociation of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeons, the Chinese Gastric CancerAssociation, and the Gastrointestinal Surgical Group of Chinese Surgical SocietyAffiliated to Chinese Medical Association have organized multidisciplinary expertdiscussions at the General Hospital of the People’s Liberation Army and nationwideexpert letter reviews and on-site seminars, and formulated an expertconsensus of the operation guidelines.
