2019 APHRS expert consensus statement on three‐dimensional mapping systems for tachycardia developed in collaboration with HRS, EHRA, and LAHRS

This document describes the use of three-dimensional mapping systemsand includes recommendations regarding their application inclinical practice based on scientific evidence. Nevertheless, it shouldbe kept in mind that these systems are associated with increasedcosts. Consequently, their availability as well as reimbursementpractice varies widely across different countries largely dependingon the economic situation. The societies involved in the developmentof this document recognize the existence of these factors andthe significant barriers that these may pose in everyday practice andon the decision to use or not use a three-dimensional mapping systemin a given patient. Thus, in cases where these useful systems arenot available or cannot be used in a wide scale due to financial constraints,electrophysiology procedures should certainly be offeredto the patients based on established indications. Profound knowledgeand experience may compensate lack of advanced technicalequipment and prove in the majority of cases sufficient for successfulconduction even of complex ablation procedures.
