摘要

As legislation in the United States and elsewhere changesto allow more people to use cannabis and its derivatives, it isimperative that we understand the full spectrum of theeffects of its psychoactive compounds in humans. With thisin mind, we read the article by Morgan et al.1, which aimedto do just that, with great interest. The authors administeredtetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD)to participants with varying levels of schizotypy. Participantsthen completed a series of tests to assess a range of cognitivedomains, as well as psychotic symptoms. Theresearchers conclude that participants showed “cognitiveimpairments” after THC administration. However, a numberof limitations preclude translation of these findings tothe use of cannabis in its relevant milieu.
