摘要

The mulberry ( Morus alba L.) is an excellent forage nutritional quality for ruminants and monogastric animals. With the aim of promoting their use in animal production systems was evaluated the effect of indolbutyric acid (IBA) (0, 1000 and 2000 mg·kg -1 ), size (30 and 40 cm) and diameter (1-2 and 2.5-3.5 cm) of the cutting on the rooting of the mulberry variety Criolla, through the percentage of rooting, plant height, number of leaves, number and length of roots. It was found a close correlation between the development of the aereal part of the plant with the process of rooting and quality of the roots obtained (number and length). The best results, greater rooting was obtained when applied 2000 mg·kg -1 of IBA to the cuttings of 30 cm of length and larger diameter. These parameters should be considered to enhance the multiplication of the mulberry.
