摘要

Introduction: Exercise improves health outcomes and quality of life inpeople with chronic disease. The number of people meeting physicalactivity guidelines however is suboptimal, and among individuals withchronic kidney disease (CKD), exercise rates are dismal. Understandingbarriers to, views of, and motivations for being active among adultswith CKD is key to designing interventions tailored to the needs of thispopulation. In the context of a pragmatic clinical trial designed toimprove physical activity levels in minority patients with advancedCKD (NCT #NCT03311763), we conducted qualitative interviews toexplore these issues at two clinical sites (Emory University and StanfordUniversity) to inform the development of an exercise intervention.
