摘要

Introduction: Non-tunneled central venous catheter (NTCVC) are usefulfor urgent initiation of acute and chronic dialysis. However they areassociated with a high risk of infection limiting the duration of their useto less than 3 weeks for jugular and one week for femoral catheters.Nevertheless, in many sub-Saharan African countries, NTCVC are usedfor longer periods even for chronic dialysis due to limited access totunneled catheters and vascular surgery for arteriovenous fistulas. Wesought to identify risk factors for NTCVC infections in patients onhemodialysis
