SUN-052 THE PERFORMANCE OF SALIVA UREA NITROGEN 2 DIPSTICK IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF?PREGNANCY RELATED ACUTE KIDNEY INJURY

Introduction: Diagnostic delays contribute to the catastrophic outcomesof pregnancy-related acute kidney injury(PRAKI)observed in low-in-come countries(LICs). There is growing interest in the saliva urea ni-trogen (SUN) dipstick as a more accessible diagnostic tool for AKI,especially in LICs. However, a recent African study reported poordiagnostic performance of SUN dipstick in PRAKI; probably due to thephysiological low blood and saliva urea levels observed in pregnancy.The SUN 2 dipstick has better sensitivity and may, therefore, showimproved diagnostic performance in that population. We evaluated theability of the SUN 2 dipstick to diagnose PRAKI in Cameroon.
