Taking the six cities (prefectures) of the Western Yunnan Circular Tour Area as the research object, this paper constructs a comprehensive evaluation index system of urbanization-ecological environment-tourism industry. Through the model of system development evaluation and the coupling coordination degree, the study measures the development level and coupling degree of the three subsystems and their composite systems in the Western Yunnan Circular Tour Area from 2008 to 2017, and analyzes their time and space differential characteristics. Finally, the coupling coordination type of each city (prefecture) is divided according to the K-Means clustering algorithm. The research results show that the subsystems and comprehensive development index of the Western Yunnan Circular Tour Area are generally fluctuating and rising trend. The coupling coordination degree of the six cities (prefectures) has obvious spatial differences, and less lifting during the 10 years. The main performance is turn slight imbalance into verge on imbalance, with an upgraded trend of spatial from northeast to southwest. In terms of the average coupling coordination degree, Lijiang, Dali, Diqing and Dehong are verge on imbalance, Baoshan is a slight imbalance, and Nujiang is a moderate imbalance. Urbanization-Ecological Environment-Tourism Industry in Western Yunnan Circular Tour Area is characterized by four types of coupling coordination, namely Type A (i.e. Lijiang “lag-middle-advance” type and Dali “advance- lag - advance” type), Type B (That is, Diqing “advance - lag- middle” type and Dehong “advance -middle-lag” type, C type (i.e. Baoshan “middle- advance - lag” type), D type (i.e. Nujiang “middle- advance- extremely lag” . Depending on the specific type, we put forward countermeasures and suggestions on the development path in different types of cities (prefectures).
