The COVID-19 pandemic has affected almost allareas of human endeavors. The impact of the pan-demic on medical students’ education in the USA(US) has been well established in the literature [1–3]. However, the impact of COVID-19 on medicalpostgraduate training of residents and fellows in theUS has not been adequately discussed in the litera-ture. On 17 March 2020, the Association of AmericanMedical Colleges (AAMC) issued guidance to tem-porarily suspend medical student clinical clerkshipsdue to the COVID-19 pandemic [4]. However, resi-dents and fellows in postgraduate training programsin the US have continued to carry out their clinicalduties. The COVID-19 pandemic has however chan-ged the postgraduate training experience in manyways.
