Dípteros minadores e seus parasitóides em plantas de crescimento espontaneo em pomar organico de citros em Montenegro, RS, Brasil

Leafminers and their parasitoids communities analysis is necessary to supply information about the biotic regulation and to maintenance of the biodiversity in the agroecosystem. This study aimed to register Diptera leafminers and their parasitoids, present in the vegetation spontaneously growing at the citrus orchard from May 2003 to May 2004. The work was conducted in Montenegro, RS, in an organic orchard of the hybrid 'Murcott'. Samplings were taken fortnightly, collecting in each occasion all the plants with mines found in an area delimited by a 0.28 m2 arc thrown in the lines and between lines of 30 randomly chosen trees. In the lab, the number of larvae and pupae per leaf of Diptera leafminers were recorded. Throughout the study, it was found 15 species of Diptera leafminers, 15 species of leafminer host plants (distributed in six families) and 15 species of micro hymenopterans parasitoids (distributed in three families). It was verified that the Diptera leafminers had presented great specificity to their host plants; therefore, the appropriate management of the spontaneous vegetation of the orchards may favor the establishment and multiplication of natural enemies of these leafminers insects.
