We show that every non-compact weighted composition operatorf u (f) acting on a Hardy space Hp for1 p lp and therefore fails to be strictly singular. We alsocharacterize those weighted composition operators on Hp whichfix a copy of the Hilbert space l2. These results extendearlier ones obtained for unweighted composition operators.
