Aussie advisory body to direct doubled funding plan

Australia's federal government has appointed a new advisory body to provide independent support for one of the country's biggest water projects after more than doubling the budget for its 10-year National Water Grid project. On 6th October, the government announced an additional A$2 billion in funding in the 2020-21 federal budget for new projects through the National Water Infrastructure Development Fund. This is in addition to the A$1.5 billion investment previously committed, bringing the total allocation up to A$3-5 billion.
