ABSTRACT Glimepiride is a poorly water-soluble oral hypoglycemic drug exhibiting poor dissolution pattern. The purpose of this work is to increase the dissolution rate of glimepiride by formation of solid dispersion with different water soluble carriers. Solid dispersion of glimepiride were prepared with polyvinyl pyrrolidone k-30, poloxamer 407, polyethylene glycol 6000 (PEG 6000), polyethylene glycol 4000 (PEG 4000), sodiumstarch glycolate, ludiflash and lactose at different weight ratios usi.
