MiR‐204, down‐regulated in retinoblastoma, regulates proliferation and invasion of human retinoblastoma cells by targeting CyclinD2 and MMP‐9

AberrantexpressionofmiR‐204hadbeenfrequentlyreportedincancerstudies;however,themechanismofitsfunctioninretinoblastomaremainedunknown.Here,wereportedthatmiR‐204wasfrequentlydownregulatedinretinoblastomatissuesandcelllines.EnforcedexpressionofmiR‐204inhibitedretinoblastomacells’proliferationandinvasion.InvivostudyindicatedthatrestorationofmiR‐204inhibitedtumorgrowth.CyclinD2andMMP‐9wereidentifiedaspotentialtargetsofmiR‐204.Inaddition,areversecorrelationbetweenmiR‐204andCyclinD2orMMP‐9expressionwasnotedinretinoblastomatissues.Takentogether,ourresultsidentifiedacrucialtumorsuppressiveroleofmiR‐204intheprogressionofretinoblastoma...
