Novel Betaherpesvirus in Bats

摘要

Because bats are associated with emerging zoonoses, identifi cation and characterization of novel viruses from bats is needed. Using a modifi ed rapid determination sys-tem for viral RNA/DNA sequences, we identifi ed a novel bat betaherpesvirus 2 not detected by herpesvirus consensus PCR. This modifi ed system is useful for detecting unknown viruses
