Respiratory Viral Illness in a Cohort of Children Presenting to a Children's Hospital Emergency Department

Background: Respiratory viral illness is common in children. Those with more severe or persistent symptoms may present to hospital emergency departments (ED). We aimed to measure the rates of influenza and other respiratory viruses in a cohort of children attending the emergency department of a Children's Hospital with influenza- like illness, and to follow their clinical course.
