Paravesical (urachal) paraganglioma (PGL) presenting as hypertensive crisis during micturition, mimicking bladder PGL

Functional paravesical paraganglioma (PGL), a disorder arising from the chromaffin cells of the sympathetic plexus in the urinary bladder wall, is extremely rare.1, 2 As of 2017, only 2 cases have been reported.2, 3 Here we report a case of urachal PGL in a 64-year-old female who suffered hypertensive crisis during micturition prior to successful tumor removal.
