According to the problem in communicationprotocol security assessments, a new protocol securitycomprehensive evaluation method based on the threedimensionalsphere model is presented. In this method, athree-dimensional security evaluation index system wasbuilt through positions of index on the external of sphericalshell. Evaluation index weights of the top two levels wereobtained through the analytic hierarchy process (AHP),with sphere radius and the retractable angles. Then,security components’ values of communication content,communication load and security vulnerability of XMLcommunication protocol were calculated. Finally, thesecurity evaluation result of XML communication protocolwas obtained through quantization calculation andcomprehensive analysis method. The experimental resultsdemonstrate that our method can meet the needs ofcommunication protocol security evaluating effectively.
