A Historical Review of Computer User’s Illegal Behavior Based on Containment Theory

摘要

The aim of this study is to explore research trendsin computer crime and cybercrime from 1968 to 2009. Thefindings of the current study will provide some insight intoscholarly activity related to computer crime and cybercrimeand will be useful in tracking computer user’s illegalbehavior research trends. Our other goal is to explore therange of the theoretical lens that can be used to understandsocial controls in restraining computer user’s illegalbehavior intention. Towards this goal, this study proposedfive propositions based on containment theory. Ourpropositions address social control education, and offerinsights in restraining computer user’s illegal behaviorintention.
