Intheserviceunitofradiology,ultrasoundmodalityiswidelyusedbecauseithasadvantagesoverothermodalities,suchasrelativelyinexpensive,non-invasive,doesnotuseionizingradiation,andportable.Untilnow,themethodfordeterminingthedepthvisualizationonqualitycontrolprogramisthroughthevisualobservationofultrasoundimageonthemonitor.Thepurposeofthisstudyistodevelopacomputer-aidedsystemtodeterminemaximumdepthofvisualization.DataacquisitionwasdonebyusingB-ModeDiagnosticUltrasoundmachineandMulti-purposeMulti-tissueUltrasoundPhantommodel040GSE.Phantomwasscannedatfixedfrequencyof1,8MHz,2,2MHz,3,6MHzand5,0MHzwithagainvariationof30dB,45dB,and60dB.GlobalthresholdingandEuclideandistancemethodwereusedtodeterminemaximumvisualizationdepth.Fromthisstudy,itisprovedthatthevisualizationdepthusingcomputeraidedprovidedeepervisualizationthanvisualinterpretation.Thedifferencesbetweenexpertverificationandtheresultofimageprocessingare6%.Thus,computeraidedsystemcanbeusedforthepurposeofqualitycontrolindeterminingmaximumvisualizationdepthofB-Modediagnosticultrasoundimage...
