Thispapershowsanelevatordynamicmodelthatcalculatesthecompensatingsheavemotionduringabufferstrike.Ourequivalent2-degree-of-freedomvibrationmodelofanelevatorsystem,whichconsistsofacar,acompensatingsheave,andcompensatingropes,canevaluatethedynamictensionofthecompensatingropescausedbyabufferstrike.Theconstraintforce,whichrestrictstheupwardmotionofthecompensatingsheave,isestimatedfromthedynamicropetension.Theconstraintforceisrepresentedbythesummationoftwovibrationmodesandisthefunctionofthelimiteddistanceofthecompensatingsheave'supwardmovement.Ourformula,whichevaluatesthemaximumconstraintforce,showsthatashorterlimiteddistanceofthecompensatingsheaveincreasestheconstraintforce...
