Both Lorentz and Tangherlini transformations transform length identically, but transform time differently leading to different synchronization. Measured length of a moving rod is expected to be different when adopting different synchronizations as the distance between the two ends of the moving rod has to be measured at the same instant to determine the length of the moving rod. Thus, a difference in measured length of a moving rod would only imply that two different synchronizations were involved and may not be construed as conclusive evidence in favor of PFT or SRT.
