evidence-based practice as it may currently be understood orinterpreted. Physiotherapy research is, relatively speaking,still in its infancy. By the time physicians started to embraceevidence-based medicine (around 1972) they had a hundredyears of research providing a theoretical basis (think ofPasteur, Lister, Koch, Charcot). Perhaps physiotherapistsshould be prepared to invest in the scientific and theoreticalbasis of their professional practice before chasing evidenceto support it.
