Most cervical teratomas are benign. However, because of their location and size, these neoplasms cause airway obstruction, and the prognosis of patients is poor if left untreated. Early diagnosis by antenatal ultrasound, airway management, and a multidisciplinary team approach to treatment are therefore necessary. This report describes a 7-day-old male neonate who presented at our institution with a huge neck mass that was treated by surgical excision. Highlights ? Magnetic resonance imaging of cervical immature teratoma revealed a huge mass, consisting of mixed solid and cystic components with focal calcification. ? Cervical immature teratoma was treated by surgical excision without adjuvant chemotherapy. ? Histopathologic examination of cervical immature teratoma showed a mixture of immature glands, epithelial lining and connective tissue.
