Although many people suffer from tuberculo-sis worldwide, mammary tuberculosis is an ex-tremely rare condition. It constitutes about 3-4.5% of breast diseases in developing coun-tries. Case report: A 35 year old female pre-sented with left breast lump since 15 -20 days.On examination, lump was measuring 3x4 cm,firm in consistency and adhered to areola. FineNeedle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) was per-formed under aseptic conditions and on micros-copy, aspirate from left breast lump showeddense acute inflammatory cells, giant cells,macrophages, many scattered squamous cells,few anucleated squames, occasional ductal epi-thelial cells, many degenerated cells and RBC.s.Ziehl- Neelsen (Z.N.) stain preparation waspositive for Acid Fast Bacilli (AFB). FNACfrom breast lesion is a simple and reliable di-agnostic tool for breast tuberculosis with fur-ther confirmation by Z.N. stain for AFB.
