We invest igate laser treatment regimes suitable for the fabricatio n of the isolated cells in a po - rous silica glass and a so l-gel film. Three-dimensional structures are pro duced as a result of the po - rous glass densification induced by femtoseco nd laser pu lse s. We a lso demo nst rat e t hat CO 2 la ser can be used to fo rm such struct ures in t he so l-gel film deposited on t he glass. In the po rous glass, barriers w ith va rious pe rmeabilit y were creat ed, which were used as walls in fluid cells. Laser- induced microrelief formatio n o n t he surface o f the sol-gel film provide s iso lat ion for t he separated porous cells. The impermea bility of porous cells is t ested by impregnation the m w ith differe nt dye s (rhodamine 6G, fuchsine, etc.).
