Test execution and numerical analyses of static compaction grouting method to reduce improvement ratio

摘要

The static compaction grouting method (CPG method) has been applied for liquefiable ground under existing facilities, including the existing runways and taxiways of Tokyo International Airport, one of the biggest airports in Japan. As for upcoming adaptations of this method, the reduction in cost will be needed due to the limited budget. For the purpose of reducing the lower limit of improvement ratio in Tokyo International Airport, a test execution on the taxiway with the low improvement ratio was conducted, in which the changes of N and K values were observed. The present study showed a certain level of increase in N and K values, and proposed a new modelling method assessing the increase of those values for liquefaction strength. Dynamic numerical analyses using the proposed method demonstrated enough seismic performance in the ground calculated. These findings resulted that the improvement ratio can be reduced in less severe liquefiable ground.
