EUS-guided radiofrequency ablation for a left adrenal oligometastasis of an esophageal adenocarcinoma

Under real-time EUS imaging, a 19-gauge RFA needle is placed in an oligometastic lesion in the left adrenal gland of a esophageal adenocarcinoma. Two applications of 35W, during 8-10s were applied, till vaporization of the lesion occurred. Approximately 3 months after this procedure, an esophagectomy with left adrenalectomy was performed. Pathological assessment of the left adrenal gland showed a large area of fibrosis with still some vital tumor at the rim.
