Endoscopic full-thickness resection (EFTR) is used toachieve R0 resection and comes from the need to overcomethe limitations of endoscopic submucosal dissection inthe management of lesions arising from, or infiltrating, themuscularis propria (subepithelial tumor) and of nonliftingor partially treated lesions.1Several techniques have beendeveloped over time.2,3Initially, exposed techniques, whichconsist of creating an open wound followed by secureclosure, were investigated.
