摘要

Blanking die design mission represents one of the bottlenecks inside the tool room. It's a shared factor between many other die types. Based on the available die design data, programming of blanking die is possible. This saves lot of time consumed in designing these kinds of dies. Recently, traditional die design and drafting techniques facing regression against the 3D model design. Therefore, many researchers have immigrated to use 3D model software. In this paper, critical review presenting some of the works carried out in die design has been discussed. A new system based on Expert System in sheet metal blanking dies has also been presented. This system has been prepared to run in the top of CATIA V5 using visual basic and CATIA script.
