We convene research teams for a variety of reasons. We select individuals who will contribute the necessary content knowledge, methodological expertise, alternate perspectives, and access to populations or data; these types of contributions help us answer our research questions and address project goals. We also recognize that teams form because members enjoy working together, which can be another critically important factor in a research project's success.Keeping careful track of decisions about all aspects of the research process along the way and reflecting on the assumptions underlying those decisions help researchers maintain a reflexive stance.~(~(12)).
