English Bookbindings added to the Department of Printed Books 1963 to 1974

THE most important acquisition of bookbindings during this period has unquestionablybeen that of the Henry Davis Collection. It is, indeed, far the most important gift of thisnature that the Department has ever received, being almost the whole of one of the threegreat collections of bookbindings made in England during this century, the others beingthose of Major J.R. Abbey and of the Broxbourne Library formed by Albert Ehrman.
