Importance of Dielectric Science in Today's Technology

In addition to a brief overview of the Dielectric Science and Technology Division of ECS, this editorial outlines the importance of research in the dielectric science and technology field related to sensor-enabled IoT devices, self-driving cars with advanced communication systems, and nanoscale CMOS technologies and nanosystems. The editorial introduces the feature articles presented in this issue that highlight the nanoscale hybrid dielectric materials used in humidity sensors, the magnetic nanoferrites for radio frequency devices for the 5th generation communication systems, and high dielectric constant materials for in nanoscale electronic devices.
