摘要

In this paper, an equivalent circuit model is presented that incorporates defected ground structure (DGS) for designing microstrip patch antenna operating at three different frequencies, which is appropriate for WLAN/WiMax applications. The antenna is made by placing uneven slim dimension twin V-slits on either sides of the patch and the two resonant modes are excited to obtain the desired twin band behavior. Analysis of the antenna is illustrated so as to achieve helpful data concerning potential back radiation problems. Further, the antenna is remodeled by placing a defect on the copper ground plane in order to generate an additional resonant mode which also improves the impedance bandwidth at low resonant modes. The antenna equivalent circuit is derived by following relevant conformal FDTD numerical procedure applied locally thereby avoiding the dependency on frequency. Furthermore, relative methodology suitable for the design in Numerical results regarding the antenna parameters are in sensi- ble agreement with experimental measurements.
