A New BolivianTrachysphyrusof theImperialisGroup (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae)

Entomologically, Bolivia is perhaps the least known part of LatinAmerica. In 1967, when I published a monograph of the nearly100 predominantly Andean and southern South American species ofTrachysphyrus, I could include onty two records from that country,although adjacent Perú, Chile, and Argentina were each found tobe major centers of abundance and diversity forTrachysphyrus. InMarch of 1968, however, when I was able to spend a week collectingnear La Paz, I discovered an abundant and conspicuous newTrachysphyrusbelonging to the group ofT. imperialisHaliday, as defined inmy earlier study (Porter 1967, p. 275).
