The Gladiolus species are known to be on the 5 th place in the culture of decorative flowers. Still there are some inconveniences regarding their culture survival due to the fact that they are relatively easy attacked by biotic stressors. This research is focused on determining a strategy for the short-term conservation of in vitro cultivated Gladiolus hybridus varieties. For the initial step of this research we focused only on the conservation of the Gladiolus hybridus Oscar variety. Explants isolated from the species mentioned above were cultured in vitro on two types of culture media and under two types of environmental condition. The results obtained were encouraging showing us the possibility of the short-term conservation for this particular Gladiolus hybridus variety.
