Intestinal perforation with cleansing enema: a rare condition

We relate the case of a 69 years old patient that underwent a surgery for intestinal obstruction. Afterwards, during preparation for colostomy withdrawal with use of cleansing enema, he showed signals of peritonitis. Therefore, we should remember this possible and grave complication, sometimes not diagnosed for an absent clinical history, and at the same time to propose an aggressive conduct in order to improve the prognosis.
