摘要

Material/Methods: 62 patients, 20 with benign changes, and 42 with suspicious findings. In 30 patients breast cancer was diagnosed. There were three methods of the image processing used: fractal, fourier, and local contrast. Each method, independently applied, resulted in detecting suspicious clusters of microcalcifications.Results: The method of local contrast proved to be the most effective with its sensitivity 71%, specificity 90%, positive predictive value 90% (PPV), and negative predictive value 82% (NPV).
