Thispaperconcentratesonthemodelingandcontrolofanautonomousphotovoltaicpowerelectricitygenerationsystem.ThesystemconsistsofaPVcell,aDC-DCBuck-boostconverterusedforMaximumPowerPointTracking(MPPT).Asaconsequence,thePVcellitselfcannotmaintainaconstantDCvoltageandfunctionasaDCvoltagepowersupplysource.Toovercomethisproblem,aDC-DCconverterwiththenonlinearcontrolscheme,slidingmodecontrol(SMC)maybeused.TheDC/DCBuck-boostconvertercontrolledbyusingtheslidingmodeapproachisusedfortrackingthemaximumpowerpointMPP.Theproposedcontrollerisrobusttoenvironmentchanges,loadvariationsanditcanbeimplementedeffectivelyandeconomically.
