摘要

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is one of the best options, in terms ofskin penetration depth and resolution, for skin lesion diagnosis. This study reports onthe use of OCT for the in vivo imaging analysis of 67 melanocytic skin lesions in 34patients. The OCT results have been compared with the dermoscopy "the standardnon-invasive, visible-light-based skin imaging technique. The variations of the OCTimaging correlate with the dermoscopic pattern and presence of dermoscopic structures,like globules, blotches and regression areas. Our study shows that OCT is a promisingnon-invasive imaging technique for the diagnosis of skin lesions and in combinationwith dermoscopy, it could complement and extend the morphologic informationobtained in vivo and could offer the premise for new diagnostic approaches.
