From giant ocean solitons to cellular ionic nano- solitons

It is well known that soliton bearing nonlinear differential equations show up inmany areas of physics when waves can propagate in a weakly nonlinear and dispersive media. Herewe will show the surprising analogy between the single hump solitary waves appearing in long waveregimes in relatively shallow water and mathematically quite similar description of nano-solitons ofionic waves propagating along microtubules in living cells.
